Guidelines for determining warehouse filling rate

Similar to warehouse utilisation, the storage filling rate refers to the ratio between the occupied storage locations and the total available storage capacity. As a result, the occupancy rate of a warehouse is not a fixed value and can vary constantly. However, it is recommended to set a maximum filling rate based on the technological design of the warehouse or logistics centre and the required throughput.

This provides some flexibility to handle stock transfers and peak storage. For high-bay warehouses, a stock level of max. 95% is ideal; for channel warehouses with single-item storage, it is around 85%.
